La Ferme – Around The World

Local restaurant La Ferme, like many others in Primrose Hill, has changed what they are doing under the Coronavirus lockdown.

Firstly, they started to sell fresh produce from their store in Regent’s Park Road; but more recently, they have launched their takeaway offering.

La Ferme’s twist on its new takeaway menu is to offer a set of dishes from popular holiday destinations, something they are calling La Ferme Airways. Every two weeks the menu changes: when I popped in the food was all Barcelona cuisine, but next week the menu is from Seoul.

I tried the grilled British green asparagus with salsa romesco, the supreme of chicken paella, and cheesecake ‘Turon’. The food was provided cold and could be eaten either as picnic food or taken home to heat up. All of it tasted fantastic and the portion sizes were generous. It was also good to see all their packaging was sustainable, right down to the biodegradable bag.  It’s a shame I won’t be able to get that cheesecake again once the menu moves on to the next destination, but I’m sure there will be something just as good to discover.

Their 3-course set menu seemed like pretty good value for £25, but you do need to pick up yourself. La Ferme isn’t currently on any delivery services, so if you want it delivered you need to add £9.95. Food needs to be pre-ordered by 6 pm for pick up the following day, though they can sometimes manage to prepare food at shorter notice.

La Ferme Airways menu changes every two weeks on a Wednesday (they are closed Monday and Tuesday). You can find their latest menu at https://www.lafermelondon.com/takeaway

Shop and take-away at La Ferme, open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am‒6pm.
