As part of the ‘Grow the Wonder’ campaign, St Mary’s, Primrose Hill is hosting a summer exhibition with three renowned artists. The exhibition can be viewed online until 20 August.

All works are for sale with profits going to the charity.

About the Artists

Annie Ovenden is one of the original members of The Brotherhood of Ruralists. They were formed in 1975 as a pioneering group of highly talented artists inspired by the natural world and traditional English art, music and literature. The group included Peter Blake, David Inshaw and Graham and Ann Arnold. Annie is a member of the Arborealists and an elected member of the St Ives Society of Artists. She is best known for her tree studies and paintings depicting the landscape of Cornwall where she lives and works. Annie is widely regarded as one of the most important and loved female artists still painting in the UK today.

Brian Busselle spent thirty years in the advertising industry with top London agencies, winning prestigious international and national creative awards. He sat as a Director for six years, and as a member, of the St.Ives Society of Artists also the Plymouth Society of Artists and Member of the Penwith Society of Artists. Busselle’s work can be seen in collections from the West Country to the Cotswold, Yorkshire to Germany and the USA. He has become known for his graphic and abstract interpretation of landscape.

Jan Phethean has worked internationally in Europe, the Mediterranean and the USA as a painter and award-winning architectural designer for over 35 years. She is an Academician with the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and represented in London by Webbs Fine Art Gallery. In the 90s she created the Clubhouse concept for Virgin Atlantic and designed International Airport Upper Class Lounges in the UK and the USA. She exhibits regularly in art galleries in the UK and is a member of St Ives Society of Artists.

The artists are delighted to be supporting St Mary’s in their fundraising activities as part of the Grow the Wonder Campaign. St Mary’s is a place of wonder. And by raising £1.5m to reimagine their building, they wants to grow that wonder sustainably for everyone in our community, now and in the future.
